Netacea Quarterly Index: Top 5 Scalper Bot Targets of Q1 2023
Netacea’s Threat Research team provides insights and expert analysis on the most scalped items for the first quarter of 2023, covering January through March.
With the holiday season over, demand within retail dropped and scalpers switched their focus to safer targets that would net them consistent profits. In the past quarter this has meant a return to mostly targeting sneakers, but with advancements in bots’ ability to scalp hype release raffles.
However, several outside factors have influenced the items scalpers have had their eyes on in Q1 2023 versus 2022. The previously stalwart Yeezy brand of sneakers is nowhere to be seen thanks to the cancellation of Kayne West, whilst for the first time since its release, demand for the PlayStation 5 has dropped enough to keep it out of our top five list.
